Time: 15:00 - 16:30 Date: Sunday 9th May Zoom: Direct Message or Email for Link (Captioning will be provided by Otter.ai with thanks to Graeae, who have been funded by Arts Council England to distribute Access Resources) This month we're discussing the National Theatre - or the idea of national theatres and civic theatres in general. What are they? What is their function? What could and should they be? Reading material is available as both text and audio below: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Hbx4PLthcn2I0KPX53fKU0N7m7YOlDcbnU6ekKvEp8I/edit#heading=h.558e5stj6jqn https://soundcloud.com/user-542371732/agno-national-theatre-extracts ***In April we will pick up the rescheduled session from March focussed on Hierarchy in Theatre***
Pre-Meet Listening Session: 14:45 - 15:00 There's a lot going on in the world, so we are going to start this month’s AGNORG by trialling a collective listening session. All you need to do is turn up on the usual link where we'll play the audio recording of this month’s reading. You might process things better in the moment, you might not have had time for the reading, you might want time to refresh before the discussions or you might just have missed us so much you want to come early! Reading Group Time: 15:00 - 16:30 Date: Sunday 11th April Zoom: Direct Message or Email for Link (Captioning will be provided by Otter.ai with thanks to Graeae, who have been funded by Arts Council England to distribute Access Resources) This month we're getting hot and bothered about hierarchy. How does the misuse of expertise and social capital disrupt making art in the rehearsal room / wider theatre making process? Have you spent the past year thinking about the kind of spaces you want to be in or industry you want to work in? What does it all look like and what would this mean for the hierarchical status quo? Is it possible? Reading material is available as both text and audio below: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1kyu17wHeFJpI7RhD3t21EZOhdq5sSM3XmhEEQj42QAo/edit?usp=sharing https://soundcloud.com/user-542371732/agno-march In light of the violent policing at yesterday's Clapham vigil for Sarah Everard and Sister Uncut's protest at Scotland Yard, we have decided to postpone today's reading group session around hierarchy. We will be in touch with new details for the session soon.
We think it's important to be able to come together today, and for those that would like to gather we will still be meeting at our usual time of 3.00 - 4:30pm. We are thinking about opening up different breakout rooms including: a silent vigil space; a women only vigil space; a space to discuss the government's new Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Bill; a space in which to address the conversation around 'Not All Men' and any other rooms that might be useful for people. These spaces will be predominantly facilitated by women. This session will move at a relaxed pace, responding to what the group needs. People are invited to engage as much or a little as they wish. In solidarity, Chloe, El, Emma-Jayne, Jamie, Maddy, Marcus, Sam, Sanaa and Siobhán. Pre-Meet Listening Session: 14:45 - 15:00
